Symbicort Turbuhaler 160mcg/4.5mcg a combination of Budesonide – Inhaled Corticosteroids, Formoterol – Long-acting Beta-adrenergic agonists. It is helpful in preventing and treating asthma ( a condition in which the airways narrow, become inflamed and may produce extra mucus, are difficult to breathe) symptoms such as wheezing in adults and in children ( above 6 years of age).

Symbicort Turbuhaler 160mcg/4.5mcg is prescribed to treat symptoms, especially, breathing difficulties, also flare-ups of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)(including chronic Bronchitis and Emphysema). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD refers to a set of respiratory system disorders characterized by the obstruction of airflow and breathing-related issues. 4.5+160MCG should not be used as rescue therapy for treatment of acute episodes of bronchospasm or for relief of acute symptoms to be used.

Symbicort Turbuhaler 160mcg/4.5mcg should not be given to the patients with acute attacks of either asthma or COPD in whom asthma is properly controlled with low or medium dose inhaled corticosteroids. Symbicort Turbuhaler 160mcg/4.5mcg should be used with caution in patients with liver impairment, fits, thyroid problems or diabetes. Before using Symbicort Turbuhaler 160mcg/4.5mcg, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Children, less than 6 years are contraindicated to the use of Symbicort Turbuhaler 160mcg/4.5mcg .However, children over 6 years should be administered with the use of necessary caution. Some caution should also be adopted in elderly patients (65 years and over) especially those with heart diseases.

How Symbicort Turbuhaler 160mcg/4.5mcg Works

160mcg4.5 mcg Symbicort Turbuhaler combines budesonide and formoterol. Budesonide helps reduce inflammation in the lungs while formoterol is a bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles surrounding the airways in the lungs. Together, they help reduce problems of breathing as well as prevent symptoms like wheezing, cough, chest tightness together with shortness of breath associated with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.

Directions For Use

Use Symbicort Turbuhaler 160mcg/4.5mcg prescribed by the doctor. For inhaling purposes only. Use the Shake Symbicort Turbuhaler 160mcg 4.5mcg vigorously for 5 seconds before use. Just before using, exhale and then place the mouth piece gently over your mouth. Pucker your lips over the mouthpiece, exhale forcefully and deep through the mouthpiece. Wait for 5-10 seconds there. Then remove the mouth piece from your mouth and exhale. After taking each dose of Symbicort Turbuhaler 160mcg4.5mcg, rinse your mouth with water and spit the water out. Do not swallow the water. Avoid contact with your eyes. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose, time and period based on your age and the severity of your condition of disease.
